STM PRODUCTION CLUB: Software Tools and Essential Plug-Ins.

Return to the main Production Club Page Here

In order to make Production Club work for everybody regardless of which DAW platform they are using we've chosen a range of great quality freeware tools and VST plug-ins that we develop our soundware projects for.

This page deals with the products that will help you get the most from your Production Club membership.

Large Scale/Major Sample Based Soundware Projects.

Every month we deliver at least two large scale multi-sample instrument projects and make them available in a number of formats.

We initially develop each set of sounds as .sf2 soundfonts so if you have an instrument that can load and play .sf2 soundfonts then you can use these file types.

We also provide all the original samples, so, if you want, you can build your own instruments from the raw sample data.

But really we want these soundware packs to be ready to play. Both Reason's NN-XT and Bitwig's Sampler will load .sf2 soundfonts so we develop a number of patches using additional effects and processors and present them as Reason Combinator patches, or Bitwig 'Instrument Container' presets.

Finally, for each soundware pack, we produce a number of great sounding patches for Zampler. Zampler is a freeware VST sample player/synth that you can download completely free. It was developed by Synapse Audio and has a great set of synth parameters and effects, so it really does our sample libraries justice and everybody can use them!

So get your free copy of Zampler using the link below.

Drum Sample Libraries and Projects.

The question of drum samples is a little simpler. All our drum sample libraries are presented as .wav files so you can just load them and play using your chosen drum instrument.

All our drum soundware packs come with a selection of great sounding resamples.

So really everybody that has a drum sample player can use our drum sample libraries.

However, we do often supply our drum sample libraries with a number of ready made kits. These are put together logically with sounds that fit together in terms of genre or sound types, so are well worth having.

For the kits we use Soundbridge's amazing Ritmix VST drum machine instrument. Again, this is available as freeware, no subscription is required, and quite honestly, we can't imagine a drum machine instrument that could really offer more. It has 16 pads, .wav sample loading, kit saving/loading and on-board effects, and synth type editing.

So whilst it's not essential, we recommend Production Club members, or anyone else for that matter, to head over to Soundbridge's website and download themselves a copy.

We send the links to Zampler and Ritmix out with every soundware email, so you'll always have the download information handy.

As a side note, if you are looking to get into computer music as a beginner, or on a limited budget, the Soundbridge's DAW is an excellent freeware music production platform.

Loops and Beats.

Again, our loops and beats type sound packs are delivered as a collection of .wav files, so just load them into your favourite player or DAW and start creating!

Most modern sample based applications allow time stretching, so you can match them to your required tempo or key, and many offer other advanced functions such as loop slicing, etc.

Synthesizer Patches.

Finally, our synthesizer patches are created for a range of great sounding, interesting freeware synths so, again, anyone can access them. 'Factory presets' rarely do these products justice. Our sounds really bring them to life with sets of really usable great sounding patches.

So in addition to getting great sounding patches, you'll also discover some amazing freeware synths that you really should have in your VST folder!

Some of our upcoming products are for instruments from legendary developers such as Full Bucket Music and Krakli Plugins.

So everyone will find something amazing within Production Club's soundware products, but there are a couple of tools there that will help you get the most from your membership and Ritmix and Zampler are well worth exploring even if you're not a member. All musicians who use a computer in some capacity should take a look at them.
